– You need to focus on the job specific details. Most people end up putting their work experience on there, but what you should be focusing on is work experience. The more experience that you have related to the job that you are applying for, the better off you are going to be when you apply. Not only will you have more likely been hired due to the fact that your work experience is directly related to the job, but if you already have a job and want to apply for a different job you will have even more of a good chance to get hired because most companies prefer to hire someone who has already done the work for them.

– You also want to put everything on one page. If you have multiple pages that you are going to submit with your resume, then you are going to find that you may not be as successful in getting your foot in the door as you would like. Keep it all on one page. Your cover letter, your curriculum vitae, and your job history will be fine on one single page, but the rest of the information should be spread across two or three pages. Make sure that the summary that you put on there matches what is on the actual paper. This means that if you do happen to experience something on a previous paper that has caused you to not get that job, it will be on here as well.
